under the auspices of
Hellenic Sailing Federation & Spata-Artemida Municipality

A major sailing event sets sail!

For 10 days, the city of Artemida will be at the center of the international sailing scene, hosting 300 young athletes, along with their coaches and accompanying teams, who will travel from 14 countries for this international regatta.

Artemida boasts a unique maritime venue that combines strong winds, significant wave action, and the safety provided by its enclosed bay. The exposure from the T293 European Championship will elevate the city among the top global destinations for windsurfing athletes and enthusiasts.

The event will kick off on October 25th, with the official Opening Ceremony taking place on Saturday, October 26th at 6:00 PM with the traditional parade of National Teams along the coastal road of Artemida, followed by the opening ceremony at the city’s stadium. The celebration will bring together national teams, coaches, fans of the sport, residents, and visitors.

After 7 days of racing and a total of 15 scheduled races, the crowning of the 2024 European Champions will take place at the closing ceremony on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Athenian Nautical Club’s facilities.

The local community and spectators will have the opportunity to witness a unique, world-class event and admire the strong Greek athletes who excel in almost every category.

“We are proud to host the 2024 T293 European Championship in our town. It will be a unique experience for the residents and visitors of Artemida, who will see the bay filled with sails and sailing action,” said the Mayor of the City, Mr. Dimitris Markou.

“A fantastic experience for the younger Greek athletes who will have the chance to compete alongside Europe’s best. I hope we have a successful and safe event, which will pave the way for future competitions,” said the President of A.N.O., Mr. Georgios Kontarinis.
