Athens Nautical Club (hereafter referred to as the “Club”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, athletes, visitors, website users, employees, partners, and all interested parties.
This policy outlines how personal data is collected, processed, stored, and protected in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and relevant Greek legislation.

TYPES AND METHODS OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION
The Club collects the following types of personal data:
- Members: Name, father’s and mother’s name, date and place of birth, nationality, ID or passport number, occupation, contact details (address, phone, email), and photograph.
- Athletes: Name, father’s and mother’s name, date and place of birth, nationality, ID or passport number, Social Security Number (AMKA), occupation, contact details, medical certificates and history (if required), participation history in sports activities, and photograph.
- Event Registrations (competitions/activities/seminars/camps): Name, date of birth, age, sports category, club, athletic ID number, contact details, medical certificates and history (if required), participation history, and photograph.
- Employees/Partners: Name, Tax Identification Number (AFM), Social Security Number (AMKA), contact details, and bank account details for payments.
- Website Visitors: Cookies and browsing data (in accordance with the Cookie Policy).
Personal data is collected via digital or physical forms, email, postal mail, phone communication, in-person meetings, social media interactions, or authorized representatives.
REGISTRY BOOKS
In compliance with Article 6 of Sports Law 2725/1999, its amendments, and Article 12 of the Club’s Constitution, the Club is obligated to maintain membership and athlete registry books. These registries are shared with respective sports federations to issue athletic IDs and facilitate participation in competitions and championships.
PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING
The purposes for collecting and processing your personal data include:
- Fulfilling contractual obligations (e.g., membership registration).
- Maintaining registry books as per sports law.
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Managing member participation in Club activities.
- Coordinating participation in sports events and activities.
- Communicating updates and event notifications to members/athletes.
- Managing human resources.
- Advancing the Club’s legitimate interests (e.g., improving services).
- Promoting the Club’s objectives.
- Organizing and communicating the Club’s activities and services.
DATA RETENTION PERIOD
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for processing purposes and legal requirements. After the retention period, data is securely deleted unless legal claims or obligations necessitate an extension.
SHARING PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES
The Club does not share personal data with third parties unless required by law or with your consent. Potential recipients include: Public authorities or regulatory bodies, Service providers (e.g., accountants, IT providers), Partner organizations, other clubs or federations (e.g., for sports events).

NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION
The Club may send newsletters to your email with updates about Club activities, events, and relevant information. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
The Club uses video surveillance in outdoor areas exclusively for member, athlete, and visitor safety. Data is retained for 20 days, extendable to three months in case of incidents. Only authorized personnel manage this system.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO RECORDING DURING EVENTS
The Club organizes cultural, social, festive, recreational, and sports events, where photography or video recording may occur. Participants’ consent is sought for the use of images, names, or voices in promotional materials, including digital media, spots, or print publications.
POLICY MODIFICATIONS
The Club reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on the Club’s website and communicated appropriately.
